Tonight its “homeboy” IM Kenny Solomon vs GM Strikovic in what is likely to be the tournament decider! The Serbian grandmaster is ahead of the pack on 6/7 with Kenny trailing by a mere half point on 5.5/7. Both players are unbeaten in the tournament thus far. Not far behind in tied third position is IM Watu Kobese and GM Sergey Kasparov on 4.5/7. Meanwhile in the Steinitz Fide Prestige section Fide Master Deon Solomons has taken a clear lead with 5/7 although he still has to fight off the Zambian on 4.5/7 Kaulule Kela tonight and a string of players on 3.5/7. This section has had many ups and downs with different leaders at different stages of the event. Tonights penultimate round holds many critical match-ups the main one being Deon versus Kela. Bryan Aguirre has beaten the Malawian maestro Paul Khupwathea and has started to separate himself from the rest of the pack in the Prestige B.
